Sea Bags

We now have new styles for Spring and Summer 2022.

Sea Bags are born as sails and transformed into nautically inspired totes and accessories that bring our customers great happiness. You see, we believe that sails soak up sun, salt, smiles and adventure.

Sea Bags’ materials come from Maine first, New England second and USA third. They use one of the last remaining thread manufacturers in the U.S. and one of a few rope manufacturers in New England. And their sail supply chain? Well, that’s as local as it gets. They collect their sails one at a time through a network of passionate boaters who love their community waters. Nothing is imported. Nothing. And that isn’t always easy.

Each Sea Bag is meticulously designed, sewn and finished by skilled Maine craftspeople: world-class sewers, artists, graduates of top-notch design schools. The thought, care and skill that goes into each bag is evident.

At Sea Bags, “recycled” and “sustainable” are not afterthoughts. They are the cornerstones of the brand. Their products are upcycled from used sails. They use ecofriendly inks and develop innovative solutions for reducing scrap. Since 1999, They’ve saved over 700 tons of material from going into landfills.

  • Sea Bags Yellow Pier Tote

A local fisherman carried his Sea Bags tote every day to bring supplies to and from his boat. He used it for many years and its endurance inspired us to recreate this classic. The handle length is designed for hand carrying and the large wraparound outside pocket allows access to small items or to keep wet, muddy tools or sandals separated. Small items can be placed in the interior zippered pocket. Bold stripes in sunny yellow accent the recycled sail cloth.

Despite featuring our signature travel log patch, we often hear that once this bag finds a home port it ends up repurposed rather than re-gifted. Printed on recycled sail cloth.

  • Sea Bags Anchor Pop Wine Bag

A standout hostess gift, our wine tote has a single red anchor, in a pattern of blue, that will tell your recipient that they’re someone special. It’s designed to keep traveling—like the repurposed sail cloth it’s made from—which is why we include a travel log in the design. Even so, we often hear that once this bag finds a home port it ends up repurposed rather than re-gifted. Printed on recycled sail cloth.

  • Sea Bags Gold Mermaid Tail and Waves Tote – Medium

We’ve created our own mythical creature-a golden mermaid. You just catch a glimpse as she disappears into a stormy autumn sea.
